This is a private records-reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve official booking records. Direct those questions to the appropriate public office below.
Choose the Correct Lynchburg Office
Lynchburg's public-safety record system is divided by function. The City Sheriff is not the operator of Lynchburg Adult Detention Center. BRRJA operates LADC and is the right starting point for current local custody and LADC-held booking records. LPD is the police-record holder for its own incidents. Court clerks hold case and disposition information.
Lynchburg Adult Detention Center, operated by Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority
510 9th Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504
LADC: 434-847-1300
BRRJA: 434-847-3100
Use the official LADC JailTracker for a current-custody search.
For a particular LADC booking record or potentially releasable routine adult intake image, use the BRRJA FOIA request page. BRRJA lists Patricia Stevens as FOIA Officer at 434-847-3100 ext. 1224 and foiarequest@brrja.state.va.us. Its page also provides an online form. Request an existing record with the person's name, approximate date, facility, arresting agency, and item sought. BRRJA does not publish a fixed photo-specific fee, so request a cost estimate.
Lynchburg Police Department Records Unit
3405 Odd Fellow Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501
Records: 434-455-6069
General information: 434-455-6050
Non-emergency dispatch: 434-847-1602
Use the LPD FOIA page or the City FOIA hub for police-held records.
The Lynchburg Sheriff's Office is at 905 Court Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504, 434-847-1301, weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Its documented duties include court security, civil process, jury matters, and court-ordered transportation. It is not the LADC roster or booking-record operator.
Lynchburg General District Court
905 Court Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504
Criminal/Traffic: 434-455-2630
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Lynchburg Circuit Court
900 Court Street, P.O. Box 4, Lynchburg, VA 24505
Clerk: 434-455-2620
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Use the General District Court for local misdemeanor cases and felony preliminary proceedings. For applicable felony matters after certification or indictment, and for appeals, use Circuit Court. A court record answers a different question from a roster: what happened after a charge was filed.
For the broader official source sequence, see the home records path. The Sheriff's Most Wanted page explains the safe distinction between a public tip lead and warrant confirmation. An emergency requires 911, not an online request.
